26 January 2012 - EPN Consulting attended the IEE 2012 Infomation Day.
Last 24 Jan 2012 EPN Consulting attended in Brussels the 2012 Intelligent Energy Europe Information Day. There will be 68 Million Euros available for co-funding activities regarding Energy Efficiency (SAVE), Energy use in Transport (STEER), Renewable Energy Sources (ALTENER) and Integrated Initiatives. 19 January 2012 - The FP7-ICT-9 Call for Proposals has been launched.
Yesterday it was launched an FP7 call for proposals concerning the ICT field and will be open until 17 Apr 2012. There are 291 Milion Euros available to fund projects in this area.

13 January 2012 - The FP7-JPROG-2012-RTD Call for Proposals has been launched.
Yesterday it was launched an FP7 call for proposals concerning the Joint Programming Coordination 2012 and it will be open until 20 Mar 2012.

11 January 2012 - The TEN-T Call for Proposals 2011 has been launched.
Yesterday the Annual Call for Proposals was launched by the Trans-European Transport Network Executive Agency (TEN-T EA) and will be open until 13 Apr 2012.
Those who are interested in submitting a proposal can register themselves to attend the Information Day that will take place in Brussels on 31 Jan 2012.

19 October 2011 - News from SBOING, EPN Consulting Member from Greece.

During the last year, SBOING has been collaborating with the Hellenic Open University on a project regarding the "PILOT DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF A DATA COLLECTION SYSTEM USING AN AD HOC WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK OF STATIONARY OR MOBILE NODES" with a wide range of applications, from traffic information to Location-based Services (LBS) and the Future Internet (FI) of people, things and services. This work was submitted to the annual international h/w competition "Cooking-Hacks" (by Libelium) and ranked in the top 5 finalists: http://www.cooking-hacks.com/index.php/let-s-cook/community-hacks.
It has also been presented and received the "best student research work" award in the International Conference on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS-2011)

EPN Consulting is delighted to welcome JAREKS from Vilnius (Lithuania) as a new Member.
JAREKS is an acronym and brand of the JARZEMSKIS IR EKSPERTAI LTD company, which is an independent, transparent and qualified research and consulting service provider with a highly professional approach.
The core of the JAREKS experience and expertise is Transport, Mobility, Logistics and Infrastructure consulting. An additional domain of the activity is Strategic Management of large companies and public sector.  Main JAREKS clients are large Lithuanian companies, Lithuanian ministries as well as local authorities. JAREKS boasts an advanced research centre as they believe that consulting has to be complemented with continuous research actiities in order to provide their clients with a much better service. JAREKS professionals were engaged in research activities with universities and gained remarkable experience in projects belonging to several EC frameworks such as FP6, FP7 and Interreg. 20 September 2011 - Welcome to a new EPN Consulting Member from Spain
EPN Consulting is delighted to welcome Ms Maria Teresa Vega Mesa as a new individual member from Málaga (Spain). She is Expert in Education for Sustainable Mobility and a tutor of the University of Málaga on the “Practicum II” subject taught in the MSc of Pedagogy in relation to mobility and accessibility. Maria Teresa is also a Lecturer at the Universities of Mendoza (Argentina) and Lima (Peru) on Sustainable Mobility. She has got an excellent experience in EC-funded projects where she covered a number of roles such as:
•    Co-ordinator in Spain of the "Grundtvig" project on the influence of psycho-active substances while driving vehicles
•    Partner in the "Leonardo da Vinci" project concerning Cognitive Mobility  

16 September 2011 - The European Mobility begins today
From 16 to 22 September 2011 the Mobility Week is the opportunity for European cities and towns to participate to the most widespread event on sustainable mobility.
The European Mobility Week is an awareness raising campaign aiming at sensibilising citizens to the use of Public Transport, Cycling, Walking and at encouraging European cities to promote these modes of transport and to invest in the new necessary infrastructures. More information here

20 July 2011 - The EC has launched a large number of FP7 Calls.
Today the European Commission launched 56 new Calls within the 7th Framework Programme (FP7) concerning a number of fields such as Transport, ICT, Security, Environment, Energy, etc. Due to the large number of requests, at present the website may not be working all the time. Be persistent (we would suggest you should try during the night) and in the next days you should be able to find the items of information of your interest.

20 July 2011 - EPN Consulting attended the EC Info Day on Sustainable Surface Transport.
Yesterday in Brussels EPN Consulting attended the FP7 Information Day on Sustainable Surface Transport (SST) organised by the European Commission. The event included a morning plenary session and a brokerage event in the afternoon where companies and academic organisations presented their project ideas.

13 July 2011 - EPN Consulting attended the EC Information Days on PPPs.
Last 11 and 12 July in Brussels EPN Consulting attended the FP7 Information Days on Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) organised by the European Commission. The event included plenary sessions as well as parallel sessions where specific topics regarding Factories of the Future (FoF), Energy-Efficient Buildings (EEB) and the European Green Car Initiative  (EGCI) were discussed. Analyses of the current situation of PPP projects and their future after 2013 were also carried out.

28 June 2011 - EPN Consulting attended the 2nd Workshop of the ITS-UK Carbon Working Group
EPN Consulting attended the 2nd Workshop of the ITS-UK Carbon Working Group  that was organised in Newcastle upon Tyne (UK) and broadcast in London. Changes, improvements with regard to last year's workshop as well as innovative solutions and best practice in reducing CO2 emissions were discussed. Special attention was paid to Electric Vehicles (EVs) and their future with regard habits, policies and technologies.
EPN Consulting is very much committed to working on ITS solutions that could reduce the overall CO₂ emissions

17 June 2011 - EPN Consulting has launched a Crowd Funding Campaign.
EPN Consulting has got plans to expand the EVENTS Section of the website to include professional events happening Worldwide. This would represent a definitive added value for visitors that will enjoy one of the most exhaustive lists of professional events. This Crowd Funding Campaign will ensure that this Section will be kept FREE as well as enriched with hundrends of additional events that currently are not listed. This campaign will stay open for 6 months, until 17th Dec 2011, and will allow EPN Consulting to implement the EVENTS Section expansion from early 2012. Contributions start from a minimum fee of £3 up to whatever amount makes you feel comfortable with. We hope that many of you will be eager to contribute to this project to bring benefits to all.

06 June 2011 - EPN Consulting and the University of the West of England invite you to attend the Short Course on Intelligent Transport Systems and European Projects next 8th July 2011.

EPN Consulting and the University of the West of England (Bristol, UK) have teamed up to launch a 1-day course on “INTELLIGENT TRANSPORT SYSTEMS and THEIR APPLICATIONS IN EU PROJECTS” that will be held at UWE on Friday 8^th July 2011.
Objective of this short course is to give a description of how European Projects and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) have improved the Transport sector in the last 20 years with an evolution from pure technology to sustainability. This includes a session on the European GALILEO satellites constellation as an opportunity of introducing added value services in Transport in the next decade. Special attention is paid to the importance of designing Advanced Travel Information Systems (ATIS) properly to stimulate behavioural changes.
The second part of the course will describe the participation into projects co-funded by the European Commission (EC) seen also as a way of funding new initiatives that help introduce and consolidate Sustainability in Transport with a consequent improvement of the Environment protection and Quality of Life. Finally, description of EC projects structures and how to prepare a good proposal are discussed and followed by examples of key EC projects that have shaped the future of ITS in Europe.  Additional information is available here. 31 May 2011 - The EPN Consulting's member SBOING has been named "Google's competitor from Thessaloniki, Greece".
SBOING recently aired in the News of the Greek national TV (channels NET and ET3) with a 2.5-min interview of its CEO, Dr. Fotis K. Liotopoulos. SBOING also made front page in the Greek newspaper "MAKEDONIA", with several re-posts in various news blogs, e-magazines, e-news and social networks (Facebook group: sboing.net). Yesterday the CIP/EIP Eco-Innovation Call was launched and will be opened until 8th Sept 2011.
Objectives of this call are:
− to Promote the adoption of new and integrated approaches to eco-innovation in fields such as  environmental management and more environmentally friendly products, processes and services

15 April 2011 - EPN Consulting sponsored the "Sustainable Transport Systems Conference".
Yesterday in the London Barbican Centre it was organised  the "Sustainable Transport Conference: Influencing Travel Behaviour". The event gathered professionals of several disciplines concerning Sustainable Transport and it was a very good opportunity to meet peers, academics and executives from the public and private sector.
EPN Consulting sponsored one of the Masterclasses: "How European Projects have contributed to increase awareness of Sustainable Transport" held by the EPN Consulting's CEO Dr Ing Stefano Mainero that described how European Projects and Intelligent Transport Systems have improved the Transport sector in the last 20 years with an evolution from pure technology to sustainability. 11 April 2011 - The EU Sustainable Energy Week is starting.
It's time to get into the starting block for this year's EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), Europe's key event for a more sustainable energy future.  Between 11 and 15 April 2011 hundreds of events organised in all parts of Europe will show, promote, discuss and celebrate energy efficiency and renewable energy. 04 April 2011 - EPN Consulting has signed an alliance with S.T.A.R in Italy
EPN Consulting has recently signed a cooperative alliance with the Italian company "S.T.A.R. - Strategies Tools Advices and Research" based in Genoa (IT).
This agreement aims to merge and complement the wide experience that both organisations have acquired on the European scenario and International projects. Major areas of activities in European Projects and consultancy services provided to private and public undertakings are related to: Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and Sustainable Transport, Logistics, Environment, Research Development and Innovation (RDI) on Intelligent Systems, and Information Communication Technologies (ICT).
This alliance between the two networks will generate remarkable benefits for the organisations themselves, their Members and Clients.

31 March 2011 - EPN Consulting attended the Traffex and Parkex 2011 exhibitions.
Last 29th March EPN Consulting visited the 2011 editions of the Traffex and Parkex exhibitions in Birmingham (UK) to meet up business partners and colleagues as well as to appreciate the state of the art in these fields.

23 March 2011 - CIP Eco-Innovation European Information Day on 28th April
Next 28th April the CIP Eco-Innovation European Information Day will be held in Brussels. It will give attendees essential information and advice on how to develop a good project proposal and apply successfully. 12 March 2011 - EC sets out roadmap for building a competitive low-carbon Europe by 2050

Last 8th March the European Commission adopted a Roadmap for transforming the European Union into a competitive low carbon economy by 2050. The Roadmap describes the cost-effective pathway to reach the EU's objective of cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 80-95% of 1990 levels by 2050. Based on the cost-effectiveness analysis undertaken, the Roadmap gives direction to sectoral policies, national and regional low-carbon strategies and long-term investments. 11 March 2011 - EPN Consulting has signed up an alliance with PIMEC in Spain.
Recently EPN Consulting has signed up a cooperative alliance with PIMEC, the association of SMEs in Catalunya, based in Barcelona. PIMEC with its 100,000 associates is the largest organisation of its kind in Spain. From now on EPN Consulting members an clients can benefit from PIMEC contacts and vice versa; this collaboration has a great potential of generating new opportunities of  business and easing the creation of European Projects consortia. 

04 March 2011 - EPN Consulting's CEO gave a speech in a conference on EU and Italian ITS projects.
Last 2nd March 2011 Dr Ing Stefano Mainero, EPN Consulting's CEO, gave a speech on "The Evolution of Intelligent Transport Systems and European Projects in the last 20 years" in a conference held in Rozzano (Milan, Italy) on "How to access National and European funding programmes dedicated to ITS and e-ticketing".  The event was organised by CAP Spa for the Club Italia members.

18 February 2011 - EPN Consulting attended the ITS UK 4th RUC Conference in London.
EPN Consulting attended the 4th Road User Charging Conference organised in London by the ITS UK association whose EPN Consulting is corporate member. During the all-day event numerous cases were presented regarding experiences, technologies and policies exploited in the UK and in some other countries in the world. Each presentation was followed by a Q&A session that helped the audience understand more about the foreseen future in this field. 

17 February 2011 - EPN Consulting attended the TEN-T Project Management Workshop in Brussels.
EPN Consulting attended this event held in Brussels last 15th and 16th February. It was an opportunity to understand future plans of the TEN-T EA (Trans-European Network for Transport Executive Agency) taking into account the reduction of budget that the Agency has to face. The Questions&Answers moments were also extremely useful as some attendees asked for some clarifications that many of us needed. Presentations shown during this event are available here.

12 February 2011 - EPN Consulting attended the 8th RUC Conference in Brussels
EPN Consulting attended the 8th Annual Road User Charging Conference held in Brussels last 7th and 8th Feb. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn from different experiences carried out in this field not only in Europe but also in USA. Besides, a number of topics correlated with RUC were discussed. They ranged from techniques, practices, policies, business models, economic costs and revenues, etc.. The event was also an excellent chance to network with high-level professionals and to plan possible collaborations in the future.

19 January 2011 - Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE) Call published
Yesterday EPN Consulting attended the IEE Information Day in Brussels (BE) and during the morning session EACI Commissioners announced that the IEE Call was published and would close next 12 May 2011. During the day useful items of information regarding the projects proposals preparation and IEE topics were discussed. Besides, a number of interesting IEE projects already funded were presented. This was also an excellent opportunity to network with attendees and discuss potential collaborations.
EPN Consulting Members will receive reports and data regarding the event.

19 November 2010 - EPN Consulting took part in the ITN 2010 in Turin (IT) last week.
The 2-day Conference and Exhibition ITN (Infrastructure, Telematics & Navigation) Event was an excellent opportunity to receive updating on technical and policy solutions regarding the world of Intelligent Transport Systems. On the 11th Nov the EPN Consulting's Director, Dr Ing Stefano Mainero, chaired one session concerning the AVL/AVM/Fleet Management with 6 fantastic speakers whereas on the 12th Nov he attended the brokerage event organised within the ITN event and met 12 successful companies. It was definitely worthy attending this event. 

15 November 2010 - EPN Consulting has revamped the "News and Event" Section.
After a few months the number of news and events listed in the EPN Consulting website has become interestingly long so the navigation wasn't as agile as at the beginning. That's why the decision in creating two autonomous pages: one dedicated to News and one dedicated to Events.
We remind that in the News section the EPN Consulting members have the benefit of publishing information regarding their activities whereas in the Events section it is possible to find the main professional events organised in Europe for the next 12 months.

30 October 2010 - EPN Consulting has recently become corporate member of the European Alliance for Innovation (EAI).
This result confirms the high interest that EPN Consulting has got for both Innovation and Europe. The European Alliance for Innovation is a grassroots movement initiated through cooperation between public, private and government organisations to address the global challenges of Europe's future competitiveness through innovation. EAI focuses on societal issues and application areas of greatest potential for ICT-driven innovations.

20 October 2010 - EPN Consulting's Director, Dr Ing Stefano Mainero, attended the MobilityTech event held in Milan (IT). This was the 5th edition of the International Forum on technological innovation for the development of mobility and transport. It was an excellent opportunity to meet up transport professionals coming from the public and private sectors and to be informed on present and future solutions devoted to Sustainable Transport which is one of the main EPN Consulting's areas of Consultancy

19 October 2010 - The EXPO 2015 will take place in Milan (IT). Today the BIE (Bureau International des Expositions) authorised the registration of the Milan Expo 2015 to the General Assembly that will be held next November.

06 October 2010 - EPN Consulting attended in London the quarterly meeting of the Public Sector Liaison Group (PSLG) of the ITS UK association. The Group's aim is to advise UK National and Local Government and Industry on ITS solutions to address transport policy and strategy objectives that deliver economic benefits to UK Plc

16 September 2010 - The European Mobility Week has begun!
From 16 to 22 September 2010 the Mobility Week is the opportunity for European cities and towns to participate to the most widespread event on sustainable mobility.
The European Mobility Week is an awareness raising campaign aiming at sensibilising citizens to the use of Public Transport, Cycling, Walking and at encouraging European cities to promote these modes of transport and to invest in the new necessary infrastructures. More information here

19 July 2010 - On the 30th July 2010 London (UK) will launch the Barclays Cycle Hire, a public bike sharing scheme for short journeys in and around the city centre. More information here

19 July 2010 - Today in London (UK) the first two cycle lanes of the Barclays Cycle Superhighways open with ten more being introduced by 2015. The new cycle lanes go into central London from outer London. More information here  

06 July 2010 - The European Commission welcomes the European Parliament voting today in  favour of a new legal framework for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).
ITS can significantly contribute to a cleaner, safer and more efficient transport system. The Directive approved today should accelerate the deployment of innovative transport technologies across Europe. More information here
